It is shown below (Figure 32) an example of possible values read from the
instrument, in this case using a Siemens S7 series PLC. The input and output
matching is that of the Figure 31 configuration.
You may notice that the data weight read as a Double Word with sign is directly
the data weight in engineering units (periphery addresses PED 256÷259, value
10.000 e.u.*).
The next word (PEW 260 is the service word), which indicates the status of the
instrument, it is composed of two bytes: the most significant (MSB, PEB 260) that
contains information on weight stability and error ADC and the least significant
(LSB, PEB 261) that contains the overflow ADC bit and watchdog. In the example
all bits are 0 except the watchdog, equal to 1.
The last word read is the PEW 262, equal to the stable weight threshold, set in this
case by the word AW 256.
On the rear side of the instrument there is LED F for diagnostics of fieldbus
communication.
If it is flashing light, an error is present on the communication bus because the
slave is not able to communicate with the master.
If steady on, there is an instrument parameter error. In that case, try to restart the
instrument at least twice to initialize the address and the communication module.
If Profibus-DP® address is modified, please to restart the instrument twice
for the acquisition of the new address by the internal communication
module.
