Generate a User Certificate

The easiest way to get the user certificate is to use the browser on the Thor VM2 or a PC
to navigate to the Certificate Authority. To request the user certificate, open a browser to
http://<CA IP address>/certsrv.
Windows 7 Professional and Windows Embedded Standard 7 only:
Sign into the CA with the username and password of the person who will be logging into
the mobile device.
This process saves a user certificate file. There is no separate private key file as used on
Windows CE devices.
Thor VM2 with with Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows Embedded Standard User Guide
a. Allow Windows to automatically select the certificate store.
b. Tap Next and Finish.
c. An import successful message is displayed.
Windows 7 Professional and Windows Embedded Standard 7 only:
a. Select Place all certificates in the following store.
b. Tap Browse and select Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
c. Tap OK then tap Next and Finish.
d. If presented with a security warning, confirm that you want to install this
certificate.
e. An import successful message is displayed.
It may be necessary to use a PC to request a certificate for these devices.
