4. In the Temporary IP Address field, enter a temporary IP address for the access point
you need to recover. You can use any IP address that is valid on your network.
5. In the Ethernet MAC Address field, enter the MAC address of the access point you
need to recover. This MAC address is printed on a label that is on the bottom of the
access point.
Note: If necessary, you can enter 00:10:40:FF:FF:FF. This special MAC address
will work with all access points.
6. In the Filename field, enter the path and filename of the .DNL file.
7. Disconnect and reconnect the power cable to the access point. The access point has
no On/Off switch, so it boots as soon as you apply power.
8. Immediately click Recover. The utility downloads the .DNL file into the access
point RAM. Do NOT reboot the access point. The Status box lets you know when
the file has been downloaded.
To use a Telnet session to reload some necessary files
1. From an MS-DOS prompt, type
temporary IP address that you entered in Step 5. The Access Point Configuration
menu appears.
2. Choose Maintenance and then choose Command Console. This screen appears.
