Explanation
Enables or disables the OpenAir port.
Sets a security identification value. All access points and wireless end
devices that use OpenAir radios in the same network must have the
same security ID to communicate with each other. Setting a security ID
value prevents unauthorized radios from communicating with the
access point . Security ID values can be from 0 to 20 characters.
Note: If you are using RT1100, RT1700, or RT5900 devices that have
OpenAir radios, you must limit the security ID to a maximum of 16
characters.
This parameter is only available if this radio is a master radio. Sets the
hopping sequence for the radio. If you have more than one access point
in the same coverage area, configure each access point with a unique
channel. The Channel value can be any number from 1 to 15.
This parameter is only available if this radio is a master radio. Set this
parameter if you want the access points to share the same channel. If
access points have the same channel and different subchannels, they
share the same hopping sequence, but behave as if they were on
different channels. This configuration prevents the access point from
receiving frames intended for another access point.
Adjusting this parameter may enhance the performance of your radio.
Intermec recommends that you only change the MAC Configuration
parameter under the direction of Intermec Technical Support.
Default Uses the factory settings for the radio protocol. You should
use this setting for normal operations.
Interference Optimizes the settings for the radio protocol for better
performance in environments with high interference or multipath.
Throughput Optimizes the settings for the radio protocol for better
performance of file transfer operations in open or uncongested
environments, such as office areas.
Manual Lets you adjust the MAC parameters individually using the
Manual MAC Parms command. To adjust these parameters, see
"Setting Manual MAC Parameters" in the next section.
