Always observe the traffic conditions

carefully and react accordingly.
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC may not detect
narrow vehicles driving in front, e.g. motorcycles
and vehicles driving on a different line.
Operating Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
Requirements:
The vehicle has been started.

The parking brake has been released.

ESP
is activated and is not intervening.

The transmission is in position h.
R
The driver's and the co-driver door are closed.
R
The seat occupancy recognition on the driv‐
R
er's seat has detected that the driver has fas‐
tened the seat belt.
The check of the radar sensor system has

been successfully completed.
Switching between the limiter and Active Dis‐
tance Assist DISTRONIC
Press button 1.

Activating Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
or the variable limiter
To activate without a stored speed: press

The current speed is stored and maintained
by the vehicle (Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC) or limited (variable limiter).

The speed limit displayed in the instrument
cluster is adopted as the stored speed. The
vehicle adapts its speed to that of the vehicle
in front, but only up to the stored speed.
Pulling away again with Active Distance
Assist DISTRONIC
Remove your foot from the brake pedal.

Deactivating Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC
& WARNING Risk of accident due to Active

activated when you leave the driver's
seat
If you leave the driver's seat while the vehicle
is being braked by Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC only, the vehicle can roll away.
Always deactivate Active Distance

Assist DISTRONIC and secure the vehi‐
cle to prevent it from rolling away before
you leave the driver's seat.
Press rocker switch

Depress the brake pedal.

Increasing or reducing the speed
Push rocker switch

The stored speed is increased or reduced by
1 km/h.
