T=>O: Represents output from the adaptor to the scanner (input from the adaptor when viewed from the scanner).

Connection1 is referenced when
performing both input and output.
The size of output from the
scanner to the adaptor is 0, so
Connection2 is referenced when
performing input only.
The size of output from the
adaptor to the scanner is 0, so

performing output only.
