9.8.1
".dat" file format
The ".dat" file must be in tab delimited text format. The data fields must be in the following
order, delimited by the horizontal tab character (decimal 8) and the record must be
terminated with a carriage return (decimal 13). If a data field has no data, just store the
terminating tab character for that field. The total number of characters in all the fields of a
record must be 255 characters or less, including the tab and carriage return characters.

Excel Column Restrictions

This field may be up to 30 characters. This field
may contain any printable ASCII character
except the '?'.
B
This field may be up to 12 characters. This field
may contain only ALPHA, numeric and the dash
ASCII characters.
C
This field may be up to 16 characters. This field
may contain only numeric, '#', '*', '(', ')', comma
and the dash ASCII characters.
