1.1 Names and Functions of Components
The names and functions of the printer parts are shown below.

1.1.1 Front

Top cover
Open this cover when it
is necessary to remove
jammed paper or to
clean the internal parts.
Cut sheet feeding area
Feed paper here when
printing on cut sheet
media.
Power switch
Turns the printer on
and off. Power is on
when it is in the I
position.
Lower-left cover
Open this cover when
replacing the waste-ink
tank.
Front cover
Open this cover when
removing jammed roll
media.
Media loadline
Align the right edge of cut
sheet media just inside
this line.
Stacker
The printed media is
stacked here.

Upper-right cover
Open this cover when
replacing the print
heads or adjusting the
media thickness lever.
Operation panel
Allows the user to check
various states of the
printer. Also provides
access to the setup
menus.

Remaining roll media
window
Allows the user to visually
check the amount of roll
media remaining within the
roll media cassettes.
Lower-right cover
Open this cover when
replacing the ink
bottles.
Roll media cassette A
(upper)/ cassette B (lower)
Pull out the cassettes when
loading or replacing the roll
media.
