Part 3: Operations
4.4.3 Details of user mode
The details of the User mode menus are shown below.
1) Check pattern
This feature allows the user to see if there is any failure in ink ejection or any
misalignment of printing position.
Select the "Check pattern" menu to print the test patterns to check the function of
each nozzle, and to evaluate the alignment of nozzle A on head A (black) and that
the other five nozzle arrays are aligned both along the carriage travel direction
(horizontal) and the paper feed direction (vertical).
If the check pattern shows the presence of failed nozzles, execute "Cleaning" from
the User mode menu. If the situation does not improve after the "Cleaning"
procedure, even after having performed it two or three times, then select "Replace
head" and replace the particular head which has the failed nozzles. If the pattern
shows any misalignment in printing position, then execute the auto print position
adjustment "Head position (auto)" procedure. If the situation does not improve after
the "Head position (auto)," then use the manual print position adjustment: "Head
position (user)" feature.
