7.2.4 Tray A is open
: Close tray
<Cause>
Either the cassette A cover sensor or the cassette A sensor detected the media tray
open.
<Probable faulty component>
Cassette cover, cassette A cover sensor, upper roll media unit, cassette A sensor,
mech. controller, system controller.
<Action>
1. Cassette A cover
Check cassette A cover to see if it is open or closed. Visually check cassette A
cover, and replace component(s) as appropriate if a failure is found.
2. Replace the Cassette A cover sensor.
3. Upper roll unit
Visually check the upper roll media unit, and replace the component(s) as
appropriate if a failure is found.
4. Replace the cassette A sensor.
5. Replace the mech. controller.
6. Replace the system controller.
7.2.5 Tray B is open
: Close tray
<Cause>
The cassette B cover sensor or the cassette B sensor find the media tray is open.
<Probable faulty component>
Cassette cover, cassette B cover sensor, lower roll media unit, cassette B sensor, the
mech. controller, system controller.
<Action>
1. Cassette B cover
Check cassette B to see if it is open or closed. Visually check cassette B cover, and
replace component(s) as appropriate if a failure is found (for example, the
pressure component for the unit is damaged).
2. Replace the cassette B cover sensor.
3. Lower roll media unit
Visually check the lower roll unit, and replace component(s) as appropriate if a
failure is found.
4. Replace the cassette B sensor.
5. Replace the mech. controller.
6. Replace the system controller.
