: Out of ink X
<Cause>
The ink sensor did not detect the ink full state after the ink was supplied.
<Probable faulty component>
Ink bottle, ink bottle unit, sub-tank unit, purge unit, mech. controller, system
controller.
<Action>
1. Replace the ink bottle for the color of which the ink sensor did not detect the ink
full state.
2. Ink bottle unit.
Open the valve with the valve releasing tool. Replace the unit if the problem
persists.
3. Replace the sub-tank unit.
4. Replace the purge unit.
5. Replace the mech. controller.
6. Replace the system controller.

Print head X* error
: Cleaning Press ↓
* The ID (A, B, C or D) of the BJ print head, for which the error is detected, is
displayed. However, when the BJ print head set sensor detected the error,
all IDs are displayed even though only one lever for a specific BJ print head
is not set correctly.
<Cause>
The BJ print head set sensor detected the error, or one of the BJ print heads was
not installed correctly so that the contact error was detected for that head.
Or, the carriage controller detected an abnormal condition in the head rank or the
head temperature.
<Probable faulty component>
BJ print head, carriage controller, carriage unit, head controller, system controller.
<Action>
1. BJ print head
Check to ensure that the BJ print head locking lever has been set correctly. If the
problem persists after the removal and reinstallation of the BJ print head, replace
the print head.
2. Carriage controller
Check to ensure that the BJ print head and the carriage controller are linked
properly via the flexible cable. If the problem persists even though the link is
established normally, replace the carriage controller.
3. Replace the carriage unit.
4. Replace the head controller.
5. Replace the system controller.
