<Cause>
The position of the nozzle check sensor unit was faulty.
An abnormal condition occurred in the nozzle check sequence.
An abnormal vibration in the printer, the BJ print head is abnormal or no ink was
delivered to the BJ print head.
<Probable faulty component>
BJ print head, nozzle check sensor Ass'y, linear scale, encoder sensor unit, carriage
controller, head controller, system controller.
<Action>
1. Check the ink filling status:
Execute "Fill Ink" from the Service Mode when there is no ink in the ink tube of
the carriage caterpillar component. Execute cleaning when the carriage air buffer
is filled but the ink tube of the BJ print head locking lever is empty.
2. BJ print head:
Replace the BJ print head if the above procedure does not solve the problem.
3. Nozzle check sensor check:
Re-install the nozzle check sensor holder unit if the installation condition is
incorrect.
If the installation condition is correct, select "Nozzle Check Position" from the
Service Mode, turn the power off and on, and obtain the updated and appropriate
nozzle check position.
4. Replace the nozzle check sensor Ass'y.
5. Check the linear scale:
Visually check the linear scale for abnormal conditions, such as stains or damage.
6. Replace the carriage controller.
7. Replace the head controller.
8. Replace the system controller.
9. Replace the carriage unit.
