2.1 Power On/Off
2.1.1 Power On
Figure 4-5 shows the initial flow chart depicting the initialization sequence that takes
place when the power is turned on and before the printer enters the online state.
Generally, the initialization steps take about 2 minutes* to complete.
* Does not include the time required for ink supply and cleaning performed after being
left for a while.
Main unit AC power on
Software initialization
I/F Busy is set
"Initializing" is displayed
on the operation panel.
Initialize
the mechanical system
Paper delivery
Carriage home position
detecting operation
Ink supply/cleaning
Nozzle checking operation
•The system controller, the motor controller, and the carriage controller
are initialized.
•ROM/RAM check.
•Heads installation and head locking lever position (open/closed) check.
•Ink/waste-ink leakage check.
Errors are displayed
•Door open/close check.
•Paper jam check.
•Cutter position check.
•Cam position check.
•Only when paper is loaded in the printer.
"Ready" is displayed on
the operation panel and
the ONLINE LED goes on.
