Cut sheet jam
: Remove sheet
<Cause>
During the setting operation of the cut sheet, the manual feed sensor and the ink jet
sensor detected the printing paper. During the feeding operation of the cut sheet, the
eject sensor didn't detect the cut sheet within the predefined time period, or detected
the cut sheet earlier than the predefined time period.
<Probable faulty component>
Eject sensor, feed motor, cut sheet feed unit, paper delivery roller, spur unit, feed
roller, pressure roller unit, paper guide A, paper guide C, motor controller, and
mech. controller, system controller.
<Action>
1. Remove paper.
2. Visual inspection:
Visually check the paper path and the paper feed drive assembly for abnormal
conditions, such as the drive belt coming-off or foreign matter attached to the
surface of components.
3. Replace the eject sensor.
4. Check the feed motor.
Replace the feed motor if the conduction/circuit test fails.
Normal value: the resistance between the two electrodes must be about 3.6 Ω.
5. Replace the cut sheet feed unit.
6. Disassemble and check the paper path subsystem, and replace components as
appropriate if failure is found.
• Paper delivery roller
• Spur unit
• Feed roller
• Pressure roller unit
• Paper guide A
• Paper guide C
7. Replace the motor controller.
8. Replace the mech. controller.
9. Replace the system controller.
