Part 3: Operations
1) Open the lower-right cover.
2) Make sure that the ink bottle locking lever is up. Raise the lever if it is not.
3) Press down the wire loop of the valve releasing tool (QY9-0111) and wait until the
loop comes up to its former position.
The valve releasing tool uses the same check valve as the printer. The stopper in
the valve may get stuck if the valve releasing tool is not used for a long time.
Therefore, this action will release the check valve of the valve releasing tool, if it
has become stuck inside.
4) Pull the plunger of the cylinder, attached to the releasing tool, until more than
approximately 60ml of air has been sucked into the cylinder.
5) Insert the valve releasing tool in place of an ink bottle, pushing it all the way into
the slot.
6) Press down the ink bottle locking lever firmly until you feel a click as the valve
releasing tool is locked into position.
7) Push in the plunger.
8) Raise the ink bottle locking lever and remove the valve releasing tool.
9) Repeat the steps from 4) to 8) for each of the remaining ink bottle slots.

When using the valve releasing tool, take the following precautions to
avoid any mixing of ink.
• If any ink stain is detected on or around the rubber cap area of the tool's
ink bottle, wipe it clean.
• Never pull the plunger once the tool has been installed. It may cause the
tool to suck in the ink that is remaining in the printer.
