Tray B jam
: Remove paper
<Cause>
The paper did not pass through the eject sensor within the predefined time period
during the rewind operation for the cassette B paper.
<Probable faulty component>
Eject sensor, spindle, cassette B, feed motor, lower roll media drive unit, upper roll
media drive unit, roll feed roller drive unit, paper delivery roller, spur unit, feed
roller, pressure roller unit, paper guide A, roll feed roller, paper guide D, paper guide
B, motor controller, mech. controller, system controller.
<Action>
1. Remove the paper.
2. Visual inspection:
Visually check the paper path and the paper feed drive assembly for abnormal
conditions, such as the drive belt coming-off or foreign matter attached to the
surface of components.
3. Replace the eject sensor.
4. Replace the spindle.
5. Replace the cassette B.
6. Check the feed motor.
Replace the feed motor if the conduction/circuit test fails.
Normal value: the resistance between the two electrodes must be about 3.6 Ω.
7. Replace the lower roll drive unit
8. Replace the upper roll drive unit.
9. Replace the roll feed roller drive unit.
10. Disassemble and check the paper path subsystem, and replace components as
appropriate if failure is found.

• Pressure roller unit
• Paper guide A
• Roll feed roller
• Paper guide D
• Paper guide B
11. Replace the motor controller.
12. Replace the mech. controller.
13. Replace the system controller.
