3.0 Trouble Shooting Guide

Refrigeration System

Use this diagnostic guide to identify issues and to locate applicable instructions within this service manual.
This diagnostic guide can be used for any of Perlick's Residential and Front Venting Commercial Series Re-
frigeration Products.
PROBLEM
Refrigerator does not run.
Refrigerator is too warm.

ELECTROCUTION HAZARD!!
Never attempt to repair or perform maintenance
on the unit until the Main electrical power has
been disconnected.
CAUSE
No power to the unit.
Incorrect control settings or faulty control.
Power
No power to unit.
Incorrectly wired internal wiring connec-
tions.
Fans
Evaporator fan is not running.
Coils
Evaporator coil has iced over.
Condensing coil is not clean.
Fins are bent or damaged.
Control
No power to control.
Control is not calling for cooling.
Troubleshooting Guide - Refrigeration System
SOLUTION
Check circuit protection devices. Fuses,
breakers, GFI).
Restore power to unit.
Refer to information plate. See Section 1.2
and Table 8-1 .
Return to factory settings (see Section 8.6 ).
Check outlet for voltage.
Check power cord connection to machine
compartment harness.
Verify wiring per wiring diagram. See
Section 8.2 .
Reconnect wires if needed.
Refer to
Evaporator fan is not running
Remove ice. See Section 7.4
Clean with soft brush and vacuum.
Straighten fins.
