2. The vast majority of plain paper will work well in your 2030. If the paper is not
compatible with the unit, however, using it could promote frequent jams.
Avoid very smooth or coarse paper.
If your machine is feeding two or more pages at once, you may be
using a type of paper that is difficult to separate. Remove the paper from
the cassette(s) and fan the edges to separate the pages.
3. You may be using your paper incorrectly.
Store your Recording Paper in a stable environment, avoiding extremes
in temperature and humidity.
Load paper into the paper supply areas carefully. If a page is folded or
wrinkled, remove it.
Print on the correct side of the paper. Some paper manufacturers place
an arrow on the end of the paper ream wrap to specify which side of the
page is correct side for printing. If you are having problems, remove the
paper stack from the tray, rotate it 180°, turn it over, and then place it
back in the tray.
4. Clean the printer every time the Imaging Cartridge is replaced to prevent
toner build-up inside the paper path. See Section 7.6.1 for details.
5. Very frequent jamming may indicate that you should have your 2030
serviced. Please call the Pitney Bowes Diagnostic Center listed in the back
of this Guide.
If the paper can't feed properly and a paper jam is detected, the display will flash
"Printer Jam." You must clear the misfed paper before continuing. The 2030 will
automatically return to the System Ready screen after the paper has been
cleared.
It is possible for more than one sheet of paper to be caught in the unit during a
printer jam, so check for more than one page. Jams occur most often in the
paper pick-up area and fuser roller area of the unit.
To clear a printer jam, follow the instructions and illustrations below:
Remove all jammed paper very carefully.
ensure you remove it all.
Keep your fingers away from the hot fuser roller.
If the page tears as you remove it, check inside the unit for small
pieces of paper and make sure you remove all of them before
proceeding.
