To perform Remote Retrieval from a personal computer (PC):
You can also retrieve documents to your PC if it is equipped to send and receive
faxes and your fax software allows "manual" answering. This is a handy feature
for people that bring along their PC while traveling.
Do This
1.
To receive to your PC, you will need a Touch-Tone capable telephone connected in
parallel with your PC modem. An easy way to accomplish this is by inserting a "Y"
adapter into the "line" port on your PC's modem, then plug the telephone cord and the
telephone line cord (from the telephone outlet) into the "Y" adapter.
2.
With your PC faxing software running (and set to manual answer), use the telephone
to dial the 2030 that is storing your faxes for Remote Retrieval.
answers, enter your Remote Retrieval Passcode.
3.
When you hear the solid ready tone, direct your PC fax software to answer. At that
point, you can hang up the telephone and your documents will be received into our
PC.
To turn Receive to Memory ON, proceed as follows:
Do This
1.
Press FEATURES.
2.
Press 8 and then YES.
3.
Press YES.
4.
The Model 2030 has been defaulted to SECURE
MACHINE SETTINGS. This feature can be turned off
by calling the Diagnostic Center.
ACCESS CODE, if required and press YES. The
default ACCESS CODE is 2030.
