Configuring the IP interface and management mode

Perform this task to review and update the IP interface settings of an operational or
newly installed PTP 800 link.
The IP interface allows users to connect to the PTP 800 web interface, either from a
locally connected computer or from a management network.
CAUTION
To configure the IP interface, proceed as follows:
Procedure 6-7 Configure IP interface

From the left hand menu, select Configuration, LAN Configuration. The
LAN Configuration page is displayed
Review and update the IP interface attributes

If any attributes have been updated, select Submit Updated System
Configuration.
If Management Mode is set to 'Out-of-Band Local' or 'Out-of-Band', configure

the management port as described in
6-24, and connect the CMU to the management network or local
management computer via the management port.
If there is a requirement to reboot the CMU in order to implement the

updated attributes, perform

Before setting Management Mode to 'Out-of-Band' or 'In-Band', ensure
that the local and remote CMUs are configured with different IP
addresses, otherwise the management agent will not be able to
distinguish the two CMUs.
