Connecting the CMU to a PC or workstation

By default, the IP interface of the CMU is configured for out-of-band local
management with an IP address of 169.254.1.1, subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 and
default gateway of 169.254.0.0. If the IP interface has been pre-configured (as
described in
procedure described below to align with the current interface configuration.
The procedure is based on the Windows XP™ operating system. Adapt the
procedure as necessary for other operating systems.

Configure the IP interface on the PC

Perform this task to set up the IP configuration of an unused Ethernet port on a PC
using the Network Connections icon in the Control Panel.
