The UPLC-II™ carrier is functionally compatible with earlier type carrier equipment (e.g., KR, TC, TC-
10, TC-10A & TC-10B, TCF, TCF-10, TCF-10B, UPLC™) as well as other suppliers' equipment. That is,
you may use the UPLC-II™ with these other carrier types at the opposite end of the line.
However, the testing options below are only compatible between UPLC-II™, UPLC™, TC-10B/TCF-10B
and UCBS.
• Automatic Checkback Testing Facilities for periodic testing of the carrier channel at programmable
intervals (in ON/OFF mode)
• Trip Test Facility (in FSK mode)
You may use the UPLC-II™ carrier set with the following types of relay systems:
• All Directional-Comparison Systems
• Phase-Comparison Systems
• Direct Transfer Trip Systems
The equipment identification number (catalog number) is displayed when you press "set" on the front key-
pad & is shown on all of the webpages. There is also a decal/sticker on the inside of the front door. The
UPLC-II™ catalog number comprises eleven (11) characters, each specifying a particular feature. This
number identifies the unit's capabilities, as well as any optional modules installed in the unit. It is elec-
tronically stored in the Transceiver module and controls all features by enabling/disabling them in the unit.
Features not enabled are "grayed out" on the web pages. The catalog number can be changed with a soft-
ware key (alphanumeric code) that AMETEK supplies. It is input into the catalog number tab of the Admin
page. Some features can be changed at no charge and others add cost.
The table on the following page provides a complete listing of the options for ordering a UPLC-II™, and
a sample catalog number. To order one or more UPLC-II™ units, simply identify the features you want
