(The gooseData="xxxxx" map the incoming
GOOSE bits to UPLC-II™ input functions. These
keywords and definitions are in the next section.)
Note that there are 5 GOOSE entries in the exam-
ple. The number of GOOSE entries MUST agree
with the GOOSE message and the GOOSE sub-
scription, otherwise the GOOSE message will be
rejected by the UPLC-II™.

GOOSE subscription input
functions
The UPLC-II™ provides the following input func-
tions for mapping to incoming GOOSE data. Note
that these functions are positive logic (1 = TRUE).
ONOFFCarrierStart
Turn on the transmitter in AM mode only.
ONOFFCarrierStop
Turn off the transmitter in AM mode only. The pri-
ority of these items is set in the UPLC-II™ logic
settings.
ONOFFLowLevelKey
Turn on transmitter at the low power setting.
ONOFFCheckbackReset
Clear all checkback alarms.
ONOFFCheckbackInitiate
Start a checkback test. Progress and results can be
monitored via the UPLC-II™ output GOOSE.
ONOFFLoopBack
Start a loopback test.
FSK52BKey
Boost the transmitter to high power in FSK mode.
FSKTripKey
Key the transmitter to Trip in FSK.
FSKLRKey
Key the transmitter to LRTrip in FSK 3F and 4F
function only.
FSKDTTKey
Key the transmitter to DTT Trip in FSK 3F and 4F
function only.
Page 7–14
FSKAKey
Key the transmitter to A in FSK 4F mode only.
FSKBKey
Key the transmitter to B in FSK 4F mode only.
FSKPowerOff
Turn off the transmitter.
FSKTripTestInitiate
Start a trip test.
FSKTripTestDisable
Disable trip tests system wide.
FSKTripTestReset
Reset trip test alarms.
UPLCNoFunction
Do nothing.
Notes:
1. The ONOFF prefix means the function will oper-
ate in ON/OFF mode only. FSK prefix means
that the function will operate in FSK mode
only.
2. Some functions are used in specific relaying
functions only. For example, FSKAKey and
FSKBkey will operate in FSK 4 Frequency
mode only.
3. These functions may be overridden by local set-
tings. For example, if the UPLC-II™ logic set-
ting
checkback
is
OFFCheckbackInitiate will have no effect. All
inputs and logic settings must allow for the
function to operate.
4. ONOFFCheckbackInitiate, ONOFFLoopback,
FSKTripTestInitiate all operate on a transition
from a logic FALSE (Input value '0') to a logic
TRUE (Input value '1'). The tests will operate
then finish. For the test to be initiated again, the
input MUST return to FALSE, then TRUE. If a
test is in progress and the input changes state
from TRUE, to FALSE, then TRUE again,
there will be no effect. i.e. the test inputs are not
"queued" in the time dimension.
5. The function UPLCNoFunction is provided as a
place holder so that the UPLC™ can ignore bits
disabled,
