Additional items on the User Admin Tab that can be set include:
• Setting a password requirement to enter the front keypad
TEST menu (The Settings menu always requires a password,
but the TEST menu can be set for either with or without a
password requirement.)
• Disabling the front panel keypad if desired for security rea-
sons (The keypad only has a numerical password and if a
stronger password is required then it can be disabled and later
turned on by logging in to the web pages with a strong pass-
word.)
• Web browser session timeout period, 5–30 mins (This is how
long it will be before a user will be automatically logged out
when on any web page and not interacting with the page. The
exception is the Home page as it has no time out. If acciden-
tally disconnecting without logging out first, this timeout is
also how long you must wait to be allowed re-entry without
power cycling the unit.)
• Dual rear Ethernet ports can be redundant or daisy chain
mode. (The redundant mode means that if one rear port fails,
it will switch over to the other in a few seconds if you have a
second network. The daisy chain mode allows you to connect
to a close-by second Ethernet enabled device using the
UPLC-II™ as a switch rather than running a separate long
cable to it. These modes do not apply to the front Ethernet
port which is completely isolated from the rear ports.)
