Trap Port
The destination port of the Trap information from the proxy program of the device. It is for the
gateway device and the client end PC in the LAN to exchange the information. It is a non-protocol
connection port. It has no effect on the network applications. It is a UDP port not TCP port. The value
ranges from 1 to 165535. The default value is 162.
SNMP Version
If you check V1, the system only processes the information of V1.
If you check V2, the system only processes the information of V2.
SNMP V3requires account security verification for the server to connect to the device. If you select
V3, the user name and password fields appear and the V1 and V2 are not selectable.
4.7.2.11 Multicast
Multicast is a transmission mode for data packets. Multicast sends IP datagrams to a group of
receivers in a single transmission. When there are multiple hosts to receive the same data packet,
multicast is the best option to reduce the bandwidth and the CPU load. The source host can send out
just one data packet. This function also depends on the relationship of the group member and the
group.
