Preparing for ECG Recording: Electrode Application
For acquisition of the standard ECG leads, four electrodes must be
applied on the limbs and six on the chest. The limb electrodes should be
placed above the wrists and ankles. The figure below shows the chest
electrode application points.

4th intercostal space at the right border of the sternum

4th intercostal space at the left border of the sternum

Midway between locations V2 and V4

At the mid-clavicular line in the 5th intercostal space

At the anterior auxiliary line on the same horizontal level as V4 and V6
