The Pharma and HIGH SECURITY options appear only if the device
has been configured as a Pharma device.
The Pharma option is designed for use by Clinical Research
Organizations (CROs) in pharmaceutical trials. MAC 1200 units with the
Pharma option are configured for specific pharmaceutical trials by CROs
and then sent out to trial sites to collect data.
The Pharma option allows users to configure the MAC 1200 unit to
capture additional patient data; the MAC 1200 unit acquires, saves and
transmits ECG information regardless of whether the Pharma option is
enabled or disabled.
The Pharma option of the MAC 1200 can be password-protected.
Password protection is enabled in the system setup. Please refer to
the MAC 1200 Service manual for access information.
Before recording ECGs with the Pharma option enabled, the unit
must be set up accordingly.
When the Pharma option is enabled, heart rate display text and
printed text is labeled with "Vent. rate;" when the Pharma option is
not enabled, heart rate display text and printed text is labeled with
"Heart rate."
Use the cursor keys to position the bar cursor on Pharma and confirm
the selection with
. Press
Pharma option.
The pharma trial administrator is the person at the CRO who assigns
the project number, trial ID, and investigator ID. Pharma parameters
can be changed by anyone with access to the Pharma menu.
The user/technician is the person at the trial site who collects the data.
