4. Click on the Ping a Host button. The following screen will be displayed:
5. Enter the IP Address of your laptop into the box labeled Enter Remote IP Address.
After you enter in the IP Address of your laptop:
•
Push Enter. At this point the HFA will try to ping your laptop. You will get a
message that will say that the ping was successful or a message saying that the
ping was unsuccessful.
•
If the ping was unsuccessful then check the following things:
- IP Address of your laptop
- the cable you are using is a crossover cable
the crossover cable is plugged in correctly

If you get a successful ping, continue on to D) Configuring the HFA II-i to Communicate to a
Laptop.
