Add the recommended oil as necessary to bring the level
near the "Max" mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.

ENGINE
Engine Oil Level
The RANGER RZR XP engine has a dry-sump design, meaning
the engine oil is contained within a remote oil tank. To check the
oil level follow the procedure listed below:
IMPORTANT: Always check the oil level when the
engine is cold. If the engine is hot when the oil level is
checked, the level will appear to be overfull.

Engine Oil Dipstick

Maintain oil level between
"Min" and "Max" range.
Access the oil tank dipstick through the oil tank access panel
located in the left front comer of the cargo box.
Polaris recommends the use of PS-4 Plus Synthetic 4-Cycle
Engine Oil.
Recommended Engine Oil:
PS-4 Plus Synthetic 4-Cycle Engine Oil
(PN 2876244) (Quart)
Capacity: 3.5 Quarts (3.3 L)

Position vehicle on a level surface and place the
transmission in PARK.
2.
Start the engine and allow it to idle for 30 seconds.
3.
Stop the engine and wait 15 seconds.
4.
Remove the oil tank access panel. Remove the dipstick
from the oil tank and wipe it dry with a clean cloth.
5.
Reinstall the dipstick completely (fully threaded). Remove
the dipstick and check the oil level.

When finished, reinstall dipstick and oil tank access panel.
Engine Oil and Filter Change
Always change engine oil and filter at the intervals outlined in
the Periodic Maintenance Chart. Always change the oil filter
whenever changing the engine oil.
The oil tank drain plug is located on the bottom ofthe oil tank.
Access the drain plug through the left rear wheel well.
The crankcase drain plug is located on the bottom of the
crankcase. Access the drain plug through the skid plate access
hole located directly under the crankcase.

Position vehicle on a level surface and place the
transmission in PARK.
2.
Clean area around the oil tank and crankcase drain plugs.

CAUTION
Use caution when performing this procedure.
Do not allow hot engine oil to come into contact
with skin, as serious burns may result.
3.
Place a drain pan under the oil tank and remove the drain
plug. Allow the oil to drain completely.
