DTC TROUBLESHOOTING
Step
1 Was "Engine Diag. Flow Table" performed?
2 Fuel Level Sensor Signal Circuit check :
1) With ignition switch OFF, disconnect combi-
nation meter coupler (green coupler).
2) Remove ECM (PCM) cover.
3) With ignition switch ON leaving engine OFF,
check voltage between E61-12 and ground.
Is voltage about 0 V?
3 Fuel Level Sensor check :
1) Remove fuel level sensor referring to "Fuel
Pump" in Section 6C.
2) With ignition switch OFF, connect L15 cou-
pler (floor harness) to R01 coupler (fuel tank
harness).
3) With ignition switch OFF, disconnect G10
coupler (instrument panel harness) of com-
bination meter.
4) Check resistance between E61-12 and
ground.
float level "FULL" 2 – 4
float level "EMPTY" 119 – 121
Is check result satisfied?
4 Fuel Level Sensor Voltage check :
1) With ignition switch OFF, connect G10 cou-
pler (instrument panel harness) of combina-
tion meter.
2) With ignition switch ON leaving engine OFF,
check voltage between E61-12 and ground.
float level "FULL" about 0 V
float level "EMPTY" about 6 V
Is check result satisfied?
Action
Ω
Ω
Yes
Go to Step 2.
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 4.
Intermittent trouble.
If OK, substitute a known-
good ECM (PCM) and
recheck.
No
Go to "Engine Diag. Flow
Table".
"BLU/WHT" wire shorted
to power circuit.
Faulty fuel level sensor or
its harness.
Substitute a known-good
combination meter and
recheck.
