TROUBLE CODE 56
GENERAL
Cam Sync Failure
This code occurs only when the engine is running if the elec-
tronic control module either receives an intermittent (extra or
missing) signal from the cam position sensor or receives an
unexpected signal. The motorcycle may continue to run, not
run normally or stop running altogether.

Diagnostic Notes
The reference numbers below correlate with the circled num-
bers on the Code 56 flow charts.
1. Connect BREAKOUT BOX (Part No. HD-42682) to ECM.
See 4.6 BREAKOUT BOX.
2. Use HARNESS CONNECTOR TEST KIT (Part No. HD-
41404), black pin probes and patch cord.
