1. Disconnect the NPS from the printer parallel port.
2. Check for +5 V dc on pin 18 of the printer parallel port (pin numbers on connector).
3. If +5 Vdc is not present, install a new logic board (see Logic board).
4. Go to Table 6, step 2.

1. NVRAM E1 or NVRAM E2:
a. Disconnect the power cable at the unit.
b. Wait 10 seconds and reconnect.
c. If the problem continues, replace the LAN card.
2. NVRAM E3:
a. Replace the LAN card.
3. NVRAM E4:
a. Disconnect the power cable at the unit.
b. Wait 10 seconds and reconnect.
c. If the problem continues, replace the LAN card.
4. ETHER E6, ERROR E6, COMM E8:
a. Replace the LAN card.
Action
1. Have the customer "ping" the printer to verify communications.
2. Have the customer verify host and print server configuration. Including IP
address, gateway address, and subnet mask.
3. Have the customer check physical network cabling.
1. Have the customer check print job stream.
2. Take a data trace of the attachment and contact support.
