4.4 Document Feed Error

4.4.1 Documents do not Feed
Step
1 Is the actuator of the Document empty
sensor damaged?

Select SENSOR TEST in the test mode.
(Refer to page 11-20.)
Open the Scanner cover.
When the Document empty sensor is
turned ON, is the Bit 11 (Upper data)
changed?

Is the cable firmly connected between the
Sensor PBA (CN1) and the Mother PBA
(CN10), between the Mother PBA (CN24)
and the Main PBA (CN12)?
4 Is the cable firmly connected between the
TX motor and the Mother PBA (CN8), be-
tween the Mother PBA (CN24) and the
Main PBA (CN12)?
5 Open the Scanner cover. With the Scan-
ner cover open switch ON, turn ON the
Document empty sensor to see if the Kick
roller, the ADF roller, the TX drive roller
operate properly.
6 When no problem is found in the steps
above, the TX motor, or the PBA's may
be defective.

Check points
Replace the Sensor PBA.
When the bit changes, go to step 4.
Insert the cable to the connector firmly.
Insert the cable to the connector firmly.
Check the gear of each roller and the gear
of the TX motor gear assembly. Replace
those which are damaged.
Replace in the order of: TX motor, Main
PBA, Mother PBA.
