4.7.8 Uneven Print
Step

Is the machine placed on a slanted sur-
face?

Does the uneven print repeat at 96mm
(3.78") intervals?

Does the uneven print repeat at 64mm
(2.52") intervals?

Does the uneven print repeat at 13-16mm
(0.51-0.63") intervals?

Is there any foreign material stuck to the
feed gears?

When no problem is found in the steps
above, the Developer assembly, the Drum
unit, the LSU or the Main PBA may be de-
fective.
4.7.9 Black Dots/White Dots
Step
1
Is the bottom of the Drum unit dirty?

Are the paper transport mechanism and/
or feed rollers (Pickup roller, Paper feed
roller or Exit roller) dirty?

Is the Fuser cleaner dirty or are there any
foreign obstacles stuck to the Fuser
cleaner?

Do the black or white dots repeat at 96mm
(3.78") intervals?
5
Are black or white dots repeat at 29mm
(1.14 inches) intervals?

Check points
Place the machine on a flat surface.
Clean the substance on the either end (sil-
ver parts) of the drum using a cotton swab.
Clean the substance on the both sides
(mold parts) of the magnet roller in the
Developer assembly.
Replace the Developer assembly.
Clean the gears or replace the Feed gear
assembly.
Replace in the order of: Developer assem-
bly, Drum unit, LSU, Main PBA.
Clean the bottom of the Drum unit (Be care-
ful not to touch the drum surface.)
Clean the paper transport section and roll-
ers.
Replace the Fuser cleaner.
Replace the Drum unit.
Replace the Fuser.
