As one of its main functions, Session Manager routes SIP traffic between connected devices.
Dial Patterns are created as part of the configuration to manage SIP traffic routing, which will
direct calls based on the number dialed to the appropriate system. In the sample network, the 5
digit pattern beginning 236 will reach Avaya Aura Meeting Exchange, whilst the 5 digit pattern
starting 54 and 200 are respectively the extensions on the Avaya Communication Server
(CS1000E) and the external PSTN destination that is reach via Dialogic IMG 1010 which has a
E1 link to the Avaya Communication Server (CS1000E) To create a Dial Pattern for calls to the
Avaya Aura Meeting Exchange, browse to Home  Elements  Routing  Dial Patterns.
Click New. Under Pattern enter a dial string pattern e.g. 236xx. (All calls with 5 digits
beginning with 236 will be routed to Meeting Exchange). Set the Min and Max length of the
digit pattern to be dialed. Under SIP Domains drop-down select All. Under Notes enter a
