Drives in drive cage type B

6.2.3.1

Overview

You can mount the following drives and storage media in the device:
● Hard disk drive
● Solid State Drive
Note
Vibratory loads
During operation, the HDDs must not be exposed to vibratory loads and may only be
exposed to limited shock loads, see section "Technical specifications (Page 101)".
Tolerances for tightening torques
Unless otherwise specified, the tolerances of the torques specified in these operating
instructions for tightening of screws is ±10%.
Drive cage
The drive cage is used to hold removable trays in which the drives, e.g. HDDs and SSDs,
are installed.
The figure below shows the rear view of the drive cage with open device. The bottom three
trays in the drive cage are equipped as follows:
● Tray 3: 2 × 2.5" drives, horizontal format
● Tray 2: 2 × 2.5" drives, horizontal format
● Tray 1: 1 × 2.5" drive, vertical format
Additional mounting location: An additional hard disk drive can be installed between the top
mounting location and the enclosure wall.
