Notes on the expansion cards

Slot numbering
The figure below shows the numbering of the slots. For more detailed information from the
manufacturer, see section "Motherboard (Page 108)".
Note
Restrictions on use of slots
• A graphics card occupies one slot (single slot) or two slots (dual slot).
• Two dual-slot graphics cards can be installed on the motherboard in slots 1-2 and 3-4.
There is then no more space for the second COM interface.
• The second COM interface needs slot 1. Use slots 3-4 for a dual-slot graphics card in this
case.
• Do not use a fanless graphics card and a self-venting graphics card at the same time.
Only use graphics cards with the same fan type: only fanless graphics cards or only self-
venting graphics cards.
Note about long PCIe expansion cards
In the case of long PCI/PCIe expansion cards, connections on the motherboard can become
hidden.
Note on PCI Express expansion cards
An expansion card or graphics card can occupy two slots in each case.
