5.2 Drive configurations
Requirements for Adaptec Storage Manager software
The following requirements must be met before you use the software for the first time during
commissioning:
● 4 GB main memory
● The operating system is restarted.
● The operating system is password-protected.
● Login and password of the operating system and Storage Manager software are the
same.
Data is backed up to two or three SAS or SATA hard disks. As a result, the system is able to
continue operation in the event of a defective hard disk or port connection problems, thereby
achieving high availability. The 4-port or 8-port variant can be used.
An optionally available hot-spare drive can further increase the availability of the system.
