21.3 device Access and Login

I forgot t he I P address for t he device.
1 The default I P address is 1 9 2 .1 6 8 .1 .2 .
2 Use t he com m ands t hrough t he console port t o check t he I P address. Connect your com put er t o t he
CON SOLE port using a console cable. Your com put er should have a t erm inal em ulat ion
com m unicat ions program ( such as HyperTerm inal) set t o VT100 t erm inal em ulat ion, no parit y, 8
dat a bit s, 1 st op bit , no flow cont rol and 115200 bps port speed.
3 I f t his does not work, you have t o reset t he device t o it s fact ory default s. See
249.
I cannot see or access t he Login screen in t he web configurat or.
1 Make sure you are using t he correct I P address.
• The default I P address is 192.168.1.2.
• I f you changed t he I P address, use t he new I P addr e ss.
• I f you changed t he I P address and have forgot t en i t , see t he t roubleshoot ing suggest ions for
forgot t he I P address for t he device.
2 Check t he hardware connect ions, and m ake sure t he LEDs are behaving as expect ed. See t he Quick
St art Guide and
3 Make sure your I nt ernet browser does not block pop- up windows and has JavaScript s and Java
enabled.
4 Make sure your com put er is in t he sam e subnet as t he device. ( I f you know t hat t here are rout ers
bet ween your com put er and t he device, skip t his st ep.)
• I f t here is no DHCP server on your net work, m a ke sure your com put er 's I P address is in t he
sam e subnet as t he device.
5 Reset t he device t o it s fact ory default s, and t ry t o access t he device wit h t he default I P address.
