Synchronization
Use synchronizat ion t o have a backup device copy t he m ast er device's configurat ion, and
cert ificat es.
Not e: Only devices of t he sam e m odel and firm ware version can synchr onize.
Ot herwise you m ust m anually configure t he m ast er device's set t ings on t he backup ( by edit ing
copies of t he configurat ion files in a t ext edit or for exam ple) .

10.1.3 Before You Begin

• Configure a st at ic I P address for each int e rface t hat you will have device HA m onit or.
Not e: Subscribe t o services on t he backup device before synchronizing it wit h t he m ast er
device.

10.2 Device HA General

This screen let s you enable or disable device HA, and displays which device HA m ode t he device is
set t o use along wit h a sum m ary of t he m onit ored int erfaces. Click Con figu r a t ion > D e vice H A >
Ge ne r a l t o display.

DESCRIPTION
Turn t he device's device HA feat ure on or off.
Note: It is not recommended to use STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) with device HA.
This displays act ive- passive m ode by default . Legacy m ode device HA is not
support ed by t he device.
The m ast er and it s backups m ust all use t he sam e device HA m ode.

t he ot her device HA screens.
