DESCRIPTION
This sect ion displays if you set t he Ope r a t in g M ode t o AP+ Br idge .
Configure t he securit y set t ings for t he device's Wireless Dist ribut ion Syst em
( WDS) , t he wireless connect ion bet ween t wo or m ore APs.
Select N o Se cu r it y t o not encrypt t he t raffic bet ween APs.
Note: WDS security is independent of the security settings between the device
and any wireless clients.
Select TKI P ( ZyAI R Se r ie s Com pa t ible ) t o enable Tem poral Key I nt egrit y
Prot ocol ( TKI P) securit y on your WDS. This opt ion is com pat ible wit h ot her
ZyXEL access point s t hat support WDS securit y. Use t his if t he ot her access
point s on your net work support WDS securit y but do not have an AES opt ion.
Note: Check your other AP's documentation to make sure it supports WDS
security.
Select AES t o enable Advanced Encrypt ion Syst em ( AES) securit y on your
WDS. AES provides superior securit y t o TKI P . Use AES if t he ot her access
point s on your net work support it for t he WDS.
Note: At the time of writing, this option is compatible with other ZyXEL NWA
access points only.
When you enable WDS securit y, for each access point in your WDS ent er t he
AP's MAC address and a pre- shared key. Each access point can use a different
pre- shared key. Configure WDS securit y and t he relevant PSK in each of your
ot her access point ( s) .
Note: Other APs must use the same encryption method to enable WDS
security.

To t urn on an ent ry, select it and click Act iva t e .
To t urn off an ent ry, select it and click I n a ct iva t e .
This field is a sequent ial value, and it is not associat ed wit h a specific user.
This field shows whet her or not t he ent ry is act ivat ed.
Type t he MAC address of t he peer device in a valid MAC address form at , t hat
is, six hexadecim al charact er pairs, for exam ple, 12: 34: 56: 78: 9a: bc.
Type a pre- shared key ( PSK) from 8 t o 63 case- sensit ive ASCI I charact ers
( including spaces and sym bols) . You m ust also set t he peer device t o use t he
sam e pre- shared key. Each peer device can use a different pre- shared key.
Select t his t o be able t o include com pat ible legacy NWA series APs ( NWA-
3160/ NWA- 3163/ NWA- 3500/ NWA- 3550) as WDS links.
This sect ion displays if you set t he Ope r a t in g M ode t o M BSSI D. I t allows
you t o associat e an SSI D profile w it h t he radio profile.
Select an SSI D and click t his but t on t o reassign it . The select ed SSI D
becom es edit able im m ediat ely upon clicking.
I ndicat es which SSI D profile is associat ed wit h t his radio profile.
Click OK t o save your changes back t o t he device.
Click Ca n ce l t o exit t his screen wit hout saving your changes.
