Bottom discrimination mode

Bottom discrimination mode has two zoom ratios which can be set from the [Range]
section of the [System] menu. See section 4.7.1 for details.
Bottom discrimination at 1/2 ratio
The left-side of the screen show the seabed as a straight line at approximately the
middle of the screen.
Seabed echo tails.
Long tails indicates a hard
seabed (Rock, gravel, etc.)
Short tails indicates a soft
seabed (Mud, sand, etc.)
Bottom discrimination at 1/3 ratio
The left-side of the screen show the seabed as a straight line at approximately one
third of the screen-length from the screen bottom.
Seabed echo tails.
Long tails indicates a hard
seabed (Rock, gravel, etc.)
Short tails indicates a soft
seabed (Mud, sand, etc.)
