Check the Oil Cooler and
Cooling Fins - Deutz Models
Maintaining the oil cooler in good condition is
essential for good engine performance. Operating a
machine with a damaged oil cooler may result in
engine damage. Also, restricting air flow through
the oil cooler will affect the performance of the
cooling system.
Bodily injury hazard. Do not
inspect while the engine
is running. Remove the key to
secure from operation.
Burn hazard. Beware of hot engine
components. Contact with hot
engine components may result in
severe burns.
Oil cooler
1 Remove the two engine pivot plate retaining
bolts. Swing the engine pivot plate out away
from the machine and secure it from moving.
Crushing hazard. Failure to secure
the engine pivot plate from moving
could result in death or serious
injury.

2 Remove the fasteners from the engine side
cover, then remove the cover.
3 Inspect the oil cooler for leaks and physical
damage.
4 Clean the oil cooler of debris and foreign
material.
Cooling and fan blower fins
5 Inspect the fan blower fins for physical damage.
6 Clean the fan blower fins of debris and foreign
material.
