PAPER REGISTRATION AND PAPER TRANSFER

6.8 PAPER REGISTRATION AND PAPER TRANSFER

6.8.1 PAPER REGISTRATION

[A]

Registration Roller

The registration roller [B] is located inside the
rear cover [A]. The paper feed roller transports
the paper to the registration roller. When the
paper reaches the registration roller, the BCU
via the Input Output Device PCB deactivates
the registration clutch and paper feed clutch,
stopping the paper's advancement. When the
[B]
developed image on the transfer belt is in the
proper position ready for transfer to the paper,
the BCU via the Input Output Device PCB
activates the paper feed and registration
[C]
clutches which again starts the feed roller
and the registration roller.

Drive

G108D931.WMF
The main motor drives the registration clutch (
6.1.3) via idle rollers. The
registration clutch when activated sends the rotational drive to the registration roller.
The registration clutch drives the registration roller gear [E].

Registration Sensor

A paper feeler [D] is located below the registration roller. The left end of the feeler
works as an actuator (interrupter). The actuator (interrupter) blocks the registration
sensor [C] which is located on the rear left corner of the printer. When the paper
reaches the registration roller, the paper lifts the paper feeler. The left end of the
feeler (interrupter) unblocks (de-actuates) the registration sensor.
