FIRMWARE UPDATE

5.2.4 UPDATING

Procedure

In this section, Slot 1 refers to the upper SD-card
slot [A]. Slot 2 refers to the lower SD-card slot [B].
1. Turn off the main power switch.
2. Disconnect the printer from the network (
5.2.2).
3. Position the SD card's "face" [C] towards the left
side of the printer. Then insert it into Slot 1 [A].
4. Slowly push the SD card into the slot until it
"clicks."
5. Make sure that the SD card is locked in place.
NOTE: To remove the SD card, push it in until it
clicks. Then release it slowly. The slot
pushes out the SD card.
6. Turn on the main power switch.
7. Wait until a firmware name is shown in the
display (about 45 seconds).
NOTE: Each firmware name is read out of the firmware itself. The firmware
name is not changed even if you change the file name on your
computer (
8. If the necessary firmware is already shown, go to the next step. If you use
some other firmware, press the up-arrow key or the down-arrow key to locate
the necessary firmware.
9. To select the firmware, press the Enter key. Make sure that an asterisk ( ) is
present with the firmware name displayed. The asterisk indicates which
firmware is selected. To cancel a selection, press the Escape key.
10. To locate Execute, press the up-arrow key or the down-arrow key.
11. Make sure that Execute is displayed. To begin the firmware update, press the
Enter key. Asterisks (stars) are shown in the display while each firmware is
downloaded.
12. Wait until the message "Updated Power Off On" is shown.
13. Turn off the main power switch.
14. Remove the SD card from the slot.
15. Physically re-connect the printer to the network.
16. Turn on the main power switch.
17. Print the configuration page (Menu > List/Test Print > Config.Page). Make sure
all the firmware was correctly updated.
