OVERVIEW
Controller PCB
The controller is the only interface with the printer. The controller receives signals
and data and sends them to the BCU. The controller supports the following:
• Printer - to host interface
• Standard: IEEE 1284, Ethernet, USB 2.0
• Optional: IEEE 802.11b (Wireless LAN), Bluetooth
You can install these optional components on the controller:
• Hard disk drive (10 GB or larger depending upon availability)
• SDRAM (64/128/256 MB)
• Network data protection unit (stored in an SD card)
(Allows for printing only via IPP with SSL support.)
Base (Engine) Control Unit (BCU)
This PCB's function is similar to the "MCTL - Main Control Board" found in the
G063. The BCU receives feedback from the power supply and the mechanical
components via sensor data. The BCU can act upon (process) the results of the
feedback. The BCU board controls the printing process from paper feed to paper
exit. The BCU's control includes the optional paper tray unit and the optional
duplex unit. The BCU also functions as the primary interface with the operation
panel.
Input Output Device (IOD) PCB
This PCB's function is similar to the "IOD1 & IOD2 – Input Output Device PCB's"
found in G063. The IOD works as the interface between the BCU and is
responsible for "triggering" many of the electro-mechanical components (based
upon signals from the BCU and sensor data). The IOD also controls the laser
output based upon print data from the Controller PCB.

Power Supply Unit and High Voltage Unit

The power supply unit changes alternating electrical current to direct current. The
high voltage unit supplies high-voltage current. The output from the High voltage
Unit is controlled by the BECU.
