Basic Switcher Settings
• When you download a still image to the memory of an input (see page 117),
the frame synchronizer mode of that input is set automatically to On. At the
same time, the output signal is set automatically to Frm. Change the setting as
required after downloading the still image.
The optional BKDF-910 and BKDF-911 input expansion boards feature internal
up-converters. When these boards are installed and the switcher's video format
is set to HD signals (see page 70), you can select the conversion mode used by
the up-converters to up-convert SD format video input signals to HD format
video input signals.

Notes
• The up-converters can be set only when the switcher's video format (see page
70) is set to HD signals.
• When the video format is switched from HD to SD, the up-converter settings
of each input channel are set automatically to OFF. Make the up-converter
settings again when you return the video format to HD.
• The following table lists the input channels on the input expansion boards that
are equipped with up-converters.

For more information about the channel numbers for channels with
up-converters, and how they are displayed in the input display, see page 38.
• Different up-converter settings can be specified for each input channel.
However, on the BKDF-910 it is not possible to turn individual channels OFF.
When the up-converter on one channel is turned OFF, the other channel is
turned OFF automatically.
• On the BKDF-911, up-converters cannot be turned OFF when the video
format is HD.
• Up-converting a finely detailed image (such as spray from a fountain) may
result in some blurriness.
• The switcher's standard input connectors (SDI IN1 to SDI IN8) are not
equipped with up-converters.
