Operator LED Control (REF: AB28 /ABRD36 - Sheet 19)
The Operator LED is mounted directly to the system board in the lower right-hand
corner. A light pipe attached to the top cover is positioned over the LED when the
cover is in place.
The Super IO includes two LED outputs,
bi-color LED with two anodes.
Green anode (A2), through series current limiting resistors R279 and R280.
When the Red and Green anodes are driven simultaneously, the LED produces a third
color, Amber. In addition, the LED outputs can be programmed to blink at rates of
0.25, 1, or 4 Hz. The Workstation 4 diagnostics utility, DEMODIAG, can demo all
LED colors and blink rates.
The POS application access the LED color and blink rates through the LED driver
(LED.DLL), a component of the platform software. The combination of three colors
and four blink rates yields the display modes summarized in Figure 2-8. Many of the
modes shown in the table below are undefined, and may be defined by the application
software.
