Workstation 4 LX Diagnostic Utility
The Workstation 4 LX includes a diagnostics utility as part of the platform software. It
is based on the Diagnostics Utility found in the original WS4, but updated for the WS4
LX.
The Utility provides a great deal of information about the hardware and software
components of the LX and includes tests of the point-of-sale interfaces and supported
printers. In addition three buttons located at the lower left of the screen allow you to
view the mag stripe and cash drawer counters, dump the contents of each system info
field and peripheral counters into a text file, or examine information about the
Windows CE Factory Restore feature.
Version 0.63 adds new features to the Customer Display Tab, including the ability to
individually address each pixel on the MICROS LCD Customer Display.
Running the WS4LXDiagUtilty
1. From the CE Desktop, touch the My Computer icon twice.
2. Touch the DOC icon twice.
3. Touch the Utilities folder twice.
4. Touch the 'WS4LXDiagUtilty' icon twice to start the utility.
• When the Diagnostics Utility starts, it displays the System Information
Screen. This screen displays many of the hardware and software components
of the system. In the following pages, we'll break the System Information
screen into both hardware and software components, the provide a brief
description of each.
