Remove and Replace the LCD panel

This procedure describes how to remove and replace the LCD panel and applies to the
Samsung or Sharp LCD panel.
See page 6-4 to remove the Top Cover.
See page 6-8 to remove the RF Shield.
1. Place the Top Cover assembly face down on a towel or soft cloth to protect the
touchscreen glass.
2. Refer to Figure 6-19 and remove the following items.
• The MSR assembly. The LCD bracket is easier to remove (and reinstall) when
the Mag Stripe Reader and spill cover are removed.
• Display Board (Samsung LCDs only).
• Backlight Inverter Board
